Water Aid

We stated to learn abbot water aid a few months ago.
at the moment we are going to write to Elisabeth Truss to get awareness about water aid.

Water filtering

On Thursday we were filtering water. we learnt how the waste treatment plant can clean water.
Then we were shown how to do it with filter paper. The Video Below shows us doing it

Experiments

Last week we set up two experiments about water.
The year 3's set up an experiment of what was left behind after water had evaporated. we put salt in one pot sugar & coffee in others.

The year 4's read a short story about  the case of the disappearing  water.
Then we started a experiment to see how long the lady went away for by looking at how much water had evaporated..
We worked out that the Lady went away for 10 days and was in Europe studying art (according to the story).

The year 3's experiment result was that the pots had left crystals behind but the coffee had just left a brown colour .

tag rugby tournement

On Tuesday years 3 and 4 went to diss high school for a tag rugby tournement. 
There was four teams the team captins were Fynton,Albie and Ethan, Lewis and Eddie.
The teams also had leaders Fynton's team leader was Lydia, Albie's and Ethan's team leader was Lorraine, Lewis's team leader was Mrs Young and Eddie's team leader was Paula.

Every one got the ball and also got very muddy.

And every one was pleased that Garboldisham won it was Fynton's team and one team came 4th and the other two came 9th and 10th , the winning team won all of their matches.

Every one missed Harry because he was enjoying a lovely time in Wales.

This week

We have mainly rehearsing for the pantomime because it's only a few days until the big performance!!! But we have been doing things between rehearsing.
We have been doing some maths, Went on a walk, Some art, practicing our panto dance and had our own assembly .

Egyptian maths

This is what we've been doing in maths this week and we would like you to have a go and see if it works.

This is how to do it

1.draw short vertical line
2.decide which number to double
3.put a number 1 at the top left corner
4.put the number you decided at the top right corner
5.double both sides until you can make the number on the left
6. add up the right hand side and it will give you the answer!
