On world book day(6th march) we brought props into school so the class could guess which book our prop was from. Eventually we told people what book our prop was from.
Abbie's book was Alice in wonderland and the prop was a rabbit. Ronnie's book was Horrid Henry and the Football Fiend and his prop was a football. Oakley's book was Charlie and the chocolate factory and his props were a golden ticket, a wonka bar, a box of everlasting gob stoppers, a hat of Mike Teavee.

our group powerpoints
On Thursday we made some PowerPoint's in groups. Jude's group wrote about sea homes, mostly they wrote about sharks. Danny's group wrote about bats that have big wingspans. If they come out when the sun is out they will get sunburnt. Finn's group wrote about cave animals who hide and wait for prey.

Our first visit to the common
On Monday the 22nd we went to the common. We looked for a space to take our photos which we look at throughout the year. We split into our cube world groups to take the photos. Before that we swapped a whistle for a pompom at our geocache. Then we looked at the pond.

On Thursday 19th it was our class assembly. We showed the rest of the school our cube globe. It is made up of 6 different countries (worlds) that we have created. We have named them, Jurassic Temple, Animalmainia, Magic World, Candy Land, Wonderforts and Swan Glitter Lands. We made up plans of what we wanted our country to look like.We then drew, painted and glittered each country. We are very proud of our work! this is our work/world.

Our first week - new year 3's and 4's.
We had fun during our first rugby session with Dave.Everyone played well, there was some excellent team work!
. The year 4's showed the year 3's what to do including the colours of the board - green for science, pink for literacy and blue for maths.
. We have been partitioning numbers to show that we understand the value of the numbers.
Our new topic is shelter, we are enjoying learning about shelters.
We drew and painted landscapes and added special features in for our own world. The landscapes were for the faces of our imaginary world. (a cardboard box!)
We have learned about materials. Some people knew lots about different metals like malachite, platinum and titanium.
We will be making shelters - animal, our world, for us and around the world.
We went out for a walk on Monday to see where we will pick our fruit for cooking and to look for changes and shelters.
